Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 Unveiled, Pre-Booking Starts
Samsung has launched its new phablet, a successor to its Galaxy Grand Duos. Samsung has already started taking the pre-order for the new Galaxy Grand via its India e-store. It can be pre-ordered online by paying an advance of Rs. 2,000, which the company notes would be adjusted against the final price.
The phone is expected to be priced between Rs. 22,900 and Rs. 24,900 but there is no official word yet on this.
As far as the tech specs are concerned, it runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box on a 5.2-inch HD TFT display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. Grand 2 is a dual-SIM device with support for GSM+GSM.
Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor clubbed with a 1.5GB of RAM. It has an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera accompanied by an LED flash along with a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. The internal storage is 8GB which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
The Grand 2 measures 146.8x75.3x8.9mm and weighs about 163 grams. It is fueled by a 2600mAh battery which company promises to deliver up to 17 hours of talk time, although no standby time is detailed. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 will be available in Black, Pink and White colour variants with a Note 3 like leatherd back.
Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 comes pre-loaded with some of the popular apps seen on Samsung's flagship smartphones like Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, such as Story Album, which can organise pictures by timelines; S Translator, company's proprietary translation service; S Travel, which offers guides and travel details; Samsung Hub, company's own content service that offers access to music, videos and games. It also comes with Group Play, a feature first seen on the Samsung Galaxy S4, which lets users play music or games together, as well as share documents.
