Apple iPad Air - iPad becomes Faster, Lighter, Brighter

Apple has announced the latest version of its iPad tablet and named it iPad Air. It is a device which features a design that's reminiscent of the iPad mini which released last year. iPad Air is thinner and lighter than earlier versions, and features a smaller bezel, which shrinks the footprint of the tablet down without compromising on screen size. It is 20% thinner and weighs 28% less than the previous iPad. It is 7.5mm thick, and weighs 1.0 pound but the screen remains the same at 9.7-inch Retina Display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution which has 3.1 million pixels.

Similar to iPhone 5S, the iPad Air features the 64-bit A7 processor and M7 motion coprocessor, which is 8 times faster and has 72 times better graphics performance than the old processor, according to Apple. iPad Air is integrated with a 5-megapixel iSight camera and FaceTime HD front-facing camera. iPad Air is powerful, but not power hungry. Even though it’s 20 percent thinner and up to twice as fast as the previous-generation iPad, it still gives you the same incredible 10-hour battery life. That’s because the A7 chip isn’t just more powerful, it’s also more efficient. So no matter where you go with iPad Air, you’ll have the battery power to go even further. It has twice the data transfer rate on Wi-Fi thanks to new MIMO 802.11n support, but it doesn't support 802.11ac.
