Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 to be launched on October 23

Nokia is all set to release its flagship Lumia series smartphones in India on October 23. The two phones to be launched are Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 with the expected prices being Rs 20,000 and Rs 43,000 respectively. Although, the pricing will be the key factor for Nokia's new Lumia Smartphones. Recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and already popular Samsung Galaxy SIII are priced at for Rs ~38,500 and ~34,500 respectively, and with the launch of iPhone 5, Apple has also slashed the prices of iPhone 4S 16GB to 38,500 and a new 8GB variant at 26,500. So, in terms of pricing, Nokia seems to have crossed the danger line.

Coming on to Nokia Lumia, both these will run Windows Mobile 8 OS. Nokia Lumia 920 comes with a 4.5-inch ClearBlack IPS LCD panel with 1280x768 pixel resolution support and super-sensitive touch which can be used even with the gloves on. The Lumia 920 is 9.9 mm thick and houses a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 family mobile processor. The smartphone has 1 GB RAM along with 32 GB on-board storage with no capability of adding a micro SD card. This is a major set back for Nokia if we consider the price and compare it to recently launched Note 2 which houses 2 GB of RAM with most powerful 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and is priced at about 38K.
