BlackBerry 10 L Series Images and Video leaked

Now, officially or unofficially, BlackBerry 10 L series images and a video in Vietnamese site has revealed the actual version of the full touch handset from RIM, though they are of course leaked but they seem to be the actual device which RIM is all set to roll out next month. The handset does look like an iPhone on the first glance but its more of what iPhone 5 concepts looked like, with the screen edged to the corners with a black frame filming around and the BlackBerry logo and name at the bottom. It has rounded corners, a front camera, and a removable back cover is as already revealed officially by RIM.

Below are the actual images of what have been revealed by a Vietnamese tech news site. The images are similar to the handset shown in previous leaks, but are far clearer than those previously seen.

The phone looks similar to iPhone 5 but it does not have any home button and is entirely touch based. It is expected that the much touted BlackBerry 10 software will allow users to switch between apps without having to go via a home screen with gestures unlike in case of Samsung and iPhones.

Pictures of the side of the device shows it boasts not only a micro-USB connector, but also a slot for a micro-HDMI cable, which could enable it to connect to high resolution external displays. Expert Reviews says this suggests that RIM could be planning to bundle the phone with film rental services, which Apple and Google already do with their operating systems.

A peek inside the phone shows slots for a micro-SIM and microSD memory card, along with a removable 1,800mAh battery. The images were first leaked by Vietnamese site Tinhte.vn, which says the phone feels 'very comfortable' to hold, but refuses to go into details of where they got hold of the device.

The BlackBerry 10 L-Series is likely to be the make or break device for Research In Motion, which has gone from being the executive smartphone of choice to fast becoming an also ran in the mobile market. Last month one analyst warned investors to ditch their shares in the Canadian firm, predicting that the BlackBerry 10 OS will be 'dead on arrival' when it finally launches in 2013.

The company has said it will release its next generation of smartphones on January 30. In the mean time, the stock price has almost doubled from $7 to $13+ on Thursday.
